Cloud Fax Client Software
The Cloud Fax client software offers a suite of tools that enhance faxing capabilities directly from user desktops. These include print drivers for easy document faxing and the Fax Spot, a dynamic notification tool that allows users to monitor their fax activity in real time.
Print Drivers: The print drivers allow users to send faxes directly from any application that supports printing. This means users can fax documents right from software like Microsoft Word, Excel, or any other print-enabled application, just by selecting the XM Fax printer.
Fax Spot: This notification tool resides in the system tray on a user's desktop. It provides real-time updates on fax status, alerts for received faxes, and quick access to fax history and settings. This tool is especially useful for users who frequently send or receive faxes and need to stay informed of their fax activity without constantly checking the main application.
Downloading the Software
Installation Instructions
To install the XM Fax client software and choose specific components like the Fax Spot or print drivers
Run the Installer
Double-click the downloaded installer file to begin the installation process.
Welcome Screen
When the welcome screen appears, click Next to continue.
License Agreement
Read the license agreement, select the checkbox to accept the terms, and click Next.
Choose Installation Location
Select the folder where you want to install the XM Fax client or accept the default location. Click Next.
Select Components
You will see a list of components available for installation. Check the boxes next to the components you need:
- Print Drivers: If you need to send faxes directly from print-enabled applications.
- Fax Spot: If you want the system tray tool for real-time fax notifications.
- Cover Sheet Editor: To edit or create your own cover sheets
By Default, no components will be selected. You must select the feature you want to be installed on your hard drive.
Web Server

User Account Control
If you use User Account Control, you may receive popups like the one below, making sure you validate the publisher. This is an example of what that popup might look like and will require acceptance before continuing.
Installation Complete
Once the installation is complete, click Finish. Restart your computer to ensure all components are correctly set up if prompted.
Configuration
After installation, configure each component:
Set up the print drivers by specifying default settings such as resolution and cover page preferences.
Configure the Fax Spot to determine how notifications should appear and what information they should display.
Login to your Cloud Fax account
Now your fax spot will show you notifications and your current fax status by hovering over the icon.
Right-clicking or Double-Clicking on the icon will Launch the Web Client and sign you into your account so you can check the faxes.
Following these steps, users can efficiently install the Cloud Fax client on their machines and tailor the installation to include only the components necessary for their specific faxing needs. This flexibility allows for a customized faxing solution that aligns with individual or departmental requirements.
