Configuring Sound Settings for Google Chrome

This guide will help you set up and troubleshoot your input (microphone) and output (speakers) to ensure optimal performance when using the Web Phone application in Google Chrome.


Configure Audio Devices on Your Computer

Windows Users

Open Sound Settings

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar (bottom-right).
  • Click "Sound Settings".
  • Under "Input", select the correct Microphone.
  • Under "Output", select your Speakers or Headset.

Test Your Devices

  • Click "Device Properties" under Input and Output.
  • Adjust volume levels and use the "Test Microphone" feature.

Troubleshoot Audio Issues

Mac Users

Open Sound Settings

  • Click Apple menu () > System Settings (or “System Preferences” on older macOS versions).
  • Select "Sound".
  • Under "Output", choose your Speakers or Headset.
  • Under "Input", select your Microphone.

Adjust Volume Settings

  • Ensure output volume is not muted.
  • Adjust input sensitivity for the microphone.

Web Phone Setup

Now let's set up your Web Phone to work with your audio device.

The first step is going to be launching the Connect Web Softphone. Once you have that launched, You should be able to follow the steps below.


1. Click the Menu Icon

This will be located in the top left.

NOTE: If you do not see this, proceed to the next step.


2. Click on Settings


3. Choose which audio setting you would like to change

The microphone will allow you to change your device to capture your voice.


4. Audio Output

This setting will allow you to choose which device is selected to hear audio


5. Select Desired Ringtone

This is the sound that will play out of your Audio Output when you receive a call. You must save this setting, unlike the settings above. Those all save as you select them.
