Overview

This is a user guide for the CAIRO application (by Crexendo Labs). It is available through Crexendo Marketplace. Learn more here, "Crexendo Marketplace - User Guide".

CAIRO AI Assistant (AI Receptionist & Operator) is a smart, customizable virtual receptionist that answers calls, provides information, routes callers, and can schedule appointments using natural conversation.

You can create multiple AI Receptionists for different purposes—such as main reception, support, sales, or billing—and train each one with your business’s knowledge, voice preferences, and routing rules. The AI Receptionist helps improve call handling, reduce wait times, and deliver a consistent, personalized experience for your callers.

Rules

1. An Office Manager scope or higher is required.

2. After CAIRO has been enabled via Crexendo Marketplace, then it can be accessed via a tile in the NetSapiens Portal. This tile is controlled by a JSS script and not a UI config. Your company's administrator must configure it. Instructions are located here, "CAIRO - Deployment Instructions".

3.  If you need to manage, add, or remove your AI Receptionist number (the pilot number), you must modify it in CAIRO and not the NetSapiens Portal.

4. If you forget to manage your AI Receptionist number in CAIRO and now it's not working as expected, follow these remediation steps:

  1. Find the AI Receptionist pilot number in the NetSapiens Portal Inventory.
  2. Set the number's treatment back to "Available".
  3. Then go to CAIRO > Call Routing. Remove the pilot number from the "1. AI Receptionist Number" section.
  4. Refresh the page.
  5. Add the pilot number back to "1. AI Receptionist Number" and save.
  6. Go to the NetSapiens Portal and verify that pilot number is pointed to the User - AI Receptionist.
