Troubleshooting
The Phone Does Not Register
- Confirm that the MAC address is correct in both the Mitel RCS Portal and Persona Connect.
- Confirm that Persona Connect was selected as the deployment server in the Mitel RCS Portal.
- Confirm that the phone is running firmware version 6900_R6.4.0.4008 or newer.
- Confirm that the correct Mitel model was selected in Persona Connect.
- Confirm that the phone was assigned to the correct user and extension.
- Confirm that the phone has internet access and can reach the Mitel RCS service.
- Factory-reset the phone again if it previously contained another provider's configuration.
The Exact Phone Model Is Not Listed
Select the corresponding model ending in W. For example, configure a Mitel 6930 by selecting Mitel 6930w.
The Phone Retains Its Previous Configuration
Perform a factory reset using either the phone interface or the Mitel Web UI. A normal reboot may not remove an existing provider configuration.
The Phone Registers but the Buttons Are Missing
- Confirm that the correct extension was assigned to the phone.
- Review the user's button configuration in Persona Connect.
- Reboot the phone after saving any button-layout changes.
Can I Connect the Phone Before Completing the Portal Setup?
No. Keep the phone disconnected until it has been added to the Mitel RCS Portal, added to the Persona Connect inventory, and assigned to a user.
Why Must the Phone Be Factory-Reset?
A previously configured phone may continue using its existing provisioning information and may not contact the Mitel RCS Portal. A factory reset removes the old configuration and allows the phone to begin the RCS redirection process.
Can I Configure Several Phones at Once?
Yes. The Mitel RCS Portal supports bulk phone uploads using a CSV file. Each phone must still be added to the Persona Connect inventory and assigned appropriately.
Is the Web Interface Override Required?
No. The override is optional and is only needed when administrative access to the phone's local web interface is required.
