Hardware Overview

The Yealink VP59, SIP-T58A, and SIP-T58W phones are designed to provide a seamless and intuitive communication experience. Below is a brief overview of the hardware components:

  • Touch Screen: For easy navigation.
  • Headset Key: Toggles headset mode.
  • Mute Key: Mutes/unmutes the microphone.
  • Speakerphone Key: Toggles speakerphone mode.
  • Volume Key: Adjusts the volume.
  • Message Key: Accesses voicemails.
  • Transfer Key: Transfers a call to another party.
  • Hold Key: Places a call on hold or resumes a held call.
  • Redial Key: Redials a previously dialed number.
  • Keypad: For dialing numbers and entering information.

Basic Phone Functions

Placing Calls

From the Dialer:

  1. Pick up the handset, and press the Speakerphone key, or the Headset key.
  2. Enter the number using the dial pad.
  3. Press the Send button to initiate the call.

From the Directory:

  1. Tap the Directory icon.
  2. Select the desired contact and tap the number to dial.

Redialing:

  1. Press the Redial key to call the last dialed number.

Answering Calls

When a Call Arrives:

  1. Pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone key, or the Headset key.
  2. Alternatively, tap the Answer button on the touch screen.

During a Call:

  1. To answer a new incoming call, tap the Answer button. The current call will be placed on hold.

Ending Calls

  1. Hang up the handset, or press the End Call button on the screen, or press the Speakerphone or Headset key if using those modes.

Redialing a Number

  1. Press the Redial key to call the last dialed number. The call will be initiated automatically.

Holding and Resuming Calls

To Hold a Call:

  1. Press the Hold key or tap the Hold button on the screen.

To Resume a Held Call:

  1. Press the Hold key again or tap the Resume button on the screen.

Transferring Calls

Blind Transfer:

  1. Press the Transfer key.
  2. Enter the number of the party you want to transfer the call to.
  3. Press the Transfer key again to complete the transfer.

Attended Transfer:

  1. Press the Transfer key.
  2. Enter the number of the party you want to transfer the call to and press Send.
  3. After speaking with the second party, press the Transfer key again to complete the transfer.

Conference Calls

Initiate a Conference Call:

  1. During an active call, press the Conference button.
  2. Dial the number of the third party and press Send.
  3. When the third party answers, press the Conference button again to join all parties.

Managing Conference Calls:

  1. You can mute or remove participants by selecting their name on the screen and choosing the appropriate option.

Mute/Unmute

  1. Press the Mute key to mute your microphone during a call. The key will glow red when muted.
  2. Press the Mute key again to unmute.

Voicemail

  1. Press the Message key to access your voicemail.
  2. Follow the voice prompts to listen to and manage your voicemail messages.

Video Calls

To use the video call feature, follow these steps:

Placing a Video Call:

  1. When the phone is idle, enter the desired number and establish the call
  2. Tap the more button on the screen once both parties are talking
  3. Tap Add Video to request video on the call

Answering a Video Call:

  1. When an incoming video call arrives, the screen will ask if you would like to switch to a video call
  2. Tap accept to answer with video, or tap ignore to continue with audio only.

Switching Between Video and Audio-only Calls:

  1. You can switch to audio-only during a video call by tapping the Audio Only button.
  2. During an audio call, you can add video by tapping the Add Video button.

Note: Video calling is only available for internal calling at this time.
